The African wild dog appears like a little patchwork wanderer, wrapped in a coat of mottled gold, black, and creamy white that looks almost hand‑painted. Its body is lean and athletic, built for long-distance running, with long legs and a narrow waist that give it a light, springy stance. Its ears are huge and rounded, like soft satellite dishes — the kind of feature kids love to paint — standing tall above a curious, alert face.
